Madrid has became a hotspot for the Business & Biodiversity Community. On November 5th, took place the Global Partnership for Business and Biodiversity Annual Meeting, that is currently comprised of 21 national and regional initiatives, including Life, all working towards greater business engagement on biodiversity-related issues.

On this event, David Álvarez, our European partner, presented Life Methodology, and Andrea Arantes, from Posigraf, talked about their experience using the methodology and the benefits that Life Certification brought. “Despite the fact that we were implementing conservation actions for 10 years, we didn’t know how to measure if our effort were effective or sufficient enough, given the impact that our commercial activities causes on the environment”, highlights Andrea. “Life Methodology and Life Certification helped us to answer those questions”, she added.

On the 07 and 08, happened the European Business and Nature Summit, that brought together key representatives from business, financial institutions, government and civil society to share their business practices and actions taken to prevent the loss of biodiversity. Eduardo Franchini, from JTI, participated on the session “Engaging with biodiversity throughout the supply chain” and presented their experience with the use of Life Methodology to assess over 12,000 producers of their supply chain. “The application of Life Methodology and the analysis it offers supports us for our business decision making process”, says Franchini.
